Our Pedagogy:
Beginning with Knowledge For Power sessions participants are introduced to vital information in regards to pertinent sociopolitical themes. Participants then engage with the information in facilitated workshops that connect the participant to the theme on a personal level. Participants are then taught artistic skills of dance, spoken word, singing, stepping, drumming, music, beatboxing, DJ-ing etc. Participants then create original works of art that express their personal connection to the themes at hand. Giving participants hands-on experience in page-to-stage performance. Participants are urged to ‘break the fourth wall’ and interact with audience members and create a sense of community within the room. Post-performance discussions allow for open dialogue on these hard hitting topics.
